LT1 took a dump - Any shops in AZ east valley?
For a while now my 94 z28 has been running like crap. WHen I give it any throttle it would bog down real bad and kick in and out. Well last night while I was going through a drive through it was trying to launch on me with my foot on the break and then it just died. It started back up and I barely got it home. This morning I started it up to go to work and it sounded like there was a piece of metal flying around inside the motor. Threw a rod maybee? I dont want to go to the dealer because Im not to fond of being raped. Anyone have any suggestions for a shop in the East Valley of Arizona? Im about 20 miles east of Phoenix. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

i definitely would not recommend taking it to a dealer, they will screw you hardcore. i know of a few places that might be able to scan your car - az power and sound in tempe, gear head garage in mesa, az auto masters in chandler. side work performance in gilbert/mesa. i personally like sidework the best, do a google search on the names + AZ and you should get the names and numbers. you might want to join AZFBA if you want to network yourself with some fbody guys and events. I am in Germany right now and wont be able to use a computer till the later half of the weekend so good luck, I hope you get it taken care of.

I weant to Gearhead garage and they wanted to do the plug wires even though I told them 2 other shops already tried that with no results. He said he wanted $500 to do the wires so I left. I am positive the wires are good. He also suggested the knock sensor and he told me even though it would only take him 5 minutes to put it in he still wants $100. Gearhead Garage is out of the question at this point. The Chevy dealer has already tried every sensor on the car, and the plugs, and wires, and optispark plus the cap and rotor and their is still a bad misfire and visible arching. Here is the weird part, it is arching off of the metal piece the alternator mounts to and the serpentine belt. Do the belts have any metal in them? I tried repacing the alternator but the arching is still there. I am beginning to think that after 3 years of going to multiple performance shops as well as the dealer, that there is no solving this problem. Nobody can figure it out. Maybe time to set it on fire and call my insurnace agent =(

lol... well.. id help you out if you knew what it was, but i really have no clue.. lol. the belts do have some metal in them, but i would think it would arc to something else, being that what metal is there is surrounded by rubber..
maybe take it to a dealership to see what they say is wrong, and then do it yourself?
