Hmm. Guess I need to call my Insurance Co. and get a quote before I look farther. Anyone know the stock 1/4 times on the LT1? Any problem areas on the 93-97 Z28's? Is it difficult to swap the Auto to 6spd? Thanks

yea lol the opti tends to go bad!!! stock times are in the low 14s mayb high 13s. And the Intake tends to start leaking. I guess that might be it.

You didn't say what year that z28 was. It really depends on the region you live in too. It seems here in KS fbodies are going for several more 1000 than what a similar year and condition car would be going for on the coast.

What I was talking about, was in a reply he makes later saying he might just get a Z28. He said he found one for 7800 but he doesn't list a year or anything.

Re: LT1 VS. LS1 in 94 Camaro

YOu can get an LS1 for around $8k! I'm in Central Florida,Daytona Beach Area. I checked KBB on a few cars and the asking price is always more. Does KBB not really apply to Fbodies or are people overpricing? Found a 97 Z28 w/ 93k for 7998. Best I've seen. Guess I just need to take my time and keep looking for a low mileage Z. Does the 97 just have the updated interior, and nothing else different then previous years?

Edit: Found 2 LS1's for 7,3 and 8,5.

Re: LT1 VS. LS1 in 94 Camaro

if your going to get a lt1 get a 96 or 97 because the 95 and lower are slower especially the 94's most ppl i talk to around here with 94's were running 14s stock i've never ran at the track but theres a guy here that has a srt-4 runs at 13.7 and i beat him stock (b4 my stage 3 clutch, and cai) so i'm guessing i'm somewhere 13.2-13.4ish i bought mine 2 years ago 1996 camaro z28 for 8500 with tax and all @ 68k mi and it ran flawless for 1 1/2 year till i had to do the clutch. Should be able to find one for around 7 in decent shape w/decent mi
any other questions ask away or pm me

Re: LT1 VS. LS1 in 94 Camaro

Well i don't know if i just got super lucky or if you all are getting ripped off. I got my 94 Z28 for $3,000 with 177k (yes i know that's high) but it still runs perfect, even after getting the opti wet . The only thing is a nice dent in the driver door from a UPS truck.

*EDIT*

And i forgot to add, ABSOLUTELY NO RUST!

Actually there is no difference in performance across the years other than inconsistancy. And I highly doubt you run a 13.2-13.4 stock unless you somehow cut like a 1.4 60 on slicks without annhilating the stock 10 bolt. I have 2 buddies with 94's that were all in the high to mid 13's (13.6 best for both) with autos and CAI and catback. Your race against that SRT-4 doesn't tell you anything about your ET because the street and strip are totally different, that kids run at the track may have been his best run he'd ever had in that car and when he ran you could have been the worst he ever performed in a vehicle. I Raced a buddy in a 01 GT well modded with bolt ons that runs 13.4@103 and he only had me at his rear quarter. Now I know for a fact I don't run in the low 13's. I would assume I run about a 13.7ish with good traction right now and thats pushing it in my book. And btw I have a 95 TA m6 and made a guy in a 96 Z28 A4 with exhaust ashamed to have ever ran into me.
