You might wanna learn to read how to read and write before you learn about engines

But seriously, LT4 is not really narrow enough, seeing that there is a stock LT4 package engine made my GM that was put in a few cars..I think the corvette only(ZR1 had LT5 some years, but I thought they also had the LT4)..correct me if im wrong someone.

Now the LT4 hotcam is a hotcam kit, that comes with the camshaft(medium duty, not too heavy, very streetable and will still pass emmissions)...1.6RR springs retainers and lifters.

The stroker motor is when you take an engine, such as an LT1 and bore out the cylinder and add bigger pistons...creating more displacement..such as going from a 350 to a 383 stroker.

Hope this helps...ppl correct me if i didnt say something correct, im just kinda talking off the top of my head.

Go here to see the lt4 hotcam kit.. http://www.samtaylor.com/html/parts/Hotcam_Kit_Page.htm

strokers commonly found in these cars are 383 and 396 cu. the 383 is simply a 400 crank in a 350. what this does is lengthen the stroke..hints stroker. you dont typically bore out the cylindars to get cubes...you lengthen the distance traveled by the piston.

LT4 is your LT1 with LT4 heads and LT4 intake which flow better than LT1 heads and intake. it also has a slightly more radical cam for some extra kick.

Actually, the ZR-1 only had the DOHC LT5, they were made from '90 to '95. In '96 the Grand Sport 'Vette was introduced to fill the gap between the ZR-1 and the newer LS1 C5 Vettes of '97. The LT4 was put in the '96 Grand Sport, Collectors Edition, and was an option on 6-spd vettes.

The LT4 was in all 96 6-speed vettes, and in no automatics.

It was also in 29 (I think) 97 Firehawks, and 106(I think) 97 Anniversarry SS's (#91 of which I own).

More specific LT4 info can be found at http://lt4.com/home.htm

But, the engine had a 4-bolt block, different crank, pistons, heads, cam, rockers, intake, balancer, timing chain, exhaust manifolds (f-body), and probably some more things I'm forgetting.

Yes you can. There is a package, heads, intake, roller rockers, springs and LT4 hot cam that will give a nice gain.

If matched with the LT4 Intake, it's a direct bolt on....but the LT1 Intake won't fit unless milled

If you're going to stroke it, have your stock heads ported, cheaper and will flow better than stock LT4 heads.
