LT4 Hotcam Expectations

Alright. I've made the decision to drop the GMPP LT4 hotcam in my '96 Camaro finally, I bought all this stuff and hope to get a start on it this weekend. I've got the hot cam of course, pacesetter long tubes (w/ air/egr) and catalytic delete, new magnaflow exhaust, and the pcmforless tune for my M6. I've already got moroso cold air. What should I expect to gain from this? Anyone with a similar setup let me know how it does.

I was hoping for more than that, my car feels pretty stout as it is. I tore up a buddy's 96 vette at the strip pretty good (about a half second)....

A HOT cam with all supporting mods should get you around 345rwhp or so.... especially through an M6.

From what I remember I have 4 O2 sensors - do I still use all four of them with the header swap is all said and done?

You will need a tune after the cam install. You can have the rear O2 sensors tuned out and not use them after the install. You can also buy O2 simulators.

What are 'stage one type heads?'

A little more info would help in this situation. What was your combo to get 360whp with a hotcam?

Are you running a ORY? If so, tune the rears out. You'll need to wire up extensions for the front o2 sensors.

I'm in agreement with this. I hear "stages" describing heads that no one is familiar with. It is easy to understand LE1/LE2/LE3 and AI190/AI200 which can be accessed via the web, but general Stage I means nothing to anyone except the person saying it.

Hotcam expectations. Well I just posted expected numbers on that last week, and I promise you can find plenty of numbers posted over the years on what folks have made.

Just installed my hotcam last week, it was tuned prior to the cam install and I have yet to get it retuned so im sure that I have extra power left on the table. but anyways here is a video after the install.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LZVlNQeq8I

I didn't take a before video but I lost to the same car by about 2 car lengths without the hotcam. btw the car I am racing is my gfs car which I posted about racing a new 2010 ss in the track kill section
