If you have headers or aftermarket rocker arms, it wouldn't hurt to have, especially considering the cost.

Always a mixed reply, but now that I have one I would say no. If you are pulling timing fix the noise or tune it out properly.

Still don't know how a module designed for 2 sensors works on our 1.

It won't eliminate knock. It will only take out what noises it was tuned for in an LT4.
I have never had one do the job,but ya can have it tuned out of the computer if ya are sure it's false knock.

I never knew Summit carried them, is that a recent thing? The price seems kinda high though, I for some reason, don't remember paying that much for mine.
