LT4 Valve Covers do not fit my AFR heads !!
I ordered a set of LT4 Valve Covers, because stock ones do not fit without modifications.
Today I got the LT4 Covers and try to bolt on my AFR heads, but it didn't fit exactly. There is 3 or 4mm space between heads and covers. Rocker studs touch the valve covers. (Rockers are 1.6 Pro Magnum)
What should I do???

I had a close call with that myself. My plastics just barely fit, though. What gave me a panic was that I had a couple trunions upside down so the posilok was up too high (they were not tightened down - just a mockup). After I turned them right, they fit. I clayed them and there is only a CH of clearance left with the gasket compressed, but that's all I need.
I imagine if you have .100 longer valves and longer pushrods (than 7.2"), you will be out of luck. Or if your heads are milled down & the block decked you might have the rocker up a little higher. You cluld possibly see if you could shorten the posilocks by 3mm on the bottom or something creative like that. Depends on where your set screws are, though. Mine were down a few threads when adjusted, so it was plan B for me. If the set screws are up too high, you could try shorter studs. It took me a long time to choose the right ARP studs, but I somehow lucked out & got the right size ones for my app.
Don't think it matters, but it might - I have the 195cc heads.

Re: LT4 Valve Covers do not fit my AFR heads !!
Firstly thanks for the long explanation.
My heads are 210cc and yes the valves 0.100 longer My pushrods are 7.4"
After I try to bolt on, when I look into the valve covers I saw rocker studs touched near of the bolt hole of the valve cover. Maybe I can port that area 2 or 3mm.
Lots of people told me these LT4 valve covers fits exactly on AFR heads without modification. If I already knew these LT4s also will not fit, I would order an aftermarket valvecover.

most spacers are for the perimeter style valve covers not center bolt like ours, but if you do find them post pictures with them installed.

Well maybe I can buy a set of LT4 cover gasket and use double gasket.

Re: LT4 Valve Covers do not fit my AFR heads !!
>if you can fit stock valve covers on TrickFlow heads then they will work. Since stock valve covers fit my AFR LT4 195cc heads, with CompCams Pro magnum 1.6rr too.
plus your using them for spacers not to use perimeter type covers

Re: LT4 Valve Covers do not fit my AFR heads !!
I have the LT4 composite covers and pro mag's on my AFRs with no problem. Then when I changed my cam and my pushrods were .175 longer, I had to turn down the locks a bit to clear the covers. Hope this helps.......John
