AS&M 58mm TB offset??

Is the AS&M 58mm TB offset at "0" (ie, on center w/ the stock bore)? I heard the only one that is "off center" is the 54mm ones. I'm going to bore out my intake, and I don't have the tb yet....I was planning to just go off center to 58mm...

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

i dont think it is off center. at least i hope not! i'd almost think at 58mm it would be too big to be off center. ill let you know in a few hours for sure though. my intake should be coming back to me today after being ported.

Yeah, I wouldn't think it'd be off center either. I don't know why'd they do it like that. Hopefully it wasn't the 58's.

Can anyone verify?

Don't guess, wait till the TB get there, and then use the gasket as your template. That is the best way to do it. It will cut out all the guess work.

What's the idle issue that I've read some have w/ this TB too? Anything to be concerned about?

Asm 58mm Tb

Seems as though my other thread got ignored, so, my question is....Is there some type of Idle issue w/ this TB? I've searched and read a few that said there is such a thing...not sure what it's composed of, or if it's an easy fix...

Thanks

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

okay, i got my as&m 58mm on tonight. no it is not offset. as far as the idle issue goes, i assume you are talking about the split blm problem?

listed here: http://para.noid.org/%7Elj/PCM%20Tut...litBLMinfo.htm

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

Not sure if that's it or not. I just heard it had a rough idle, or would not idle...I've done some research, and come up w/ slotting the TPS and adjusting the idle stop screw, b/c it's not right from factory...

So, the split BLM's are a problem as well w/ this tb?

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

ah yeah, that too. i have yet to mess around with it any. but the instructions to the tb do mention that as well. i had forgotten about it until you mentioned it. i got the TB about two months ago and read about that then and forgot about it. ill have to look into that more. kinda retarded problems considering the cost of these thing!

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

I really don't feel like making some Brass fitting like that link suggests, and doing that stuff to a $500 piece, lol...I suppose it's no big deal, but would rather not *** around

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

Just use your gasket for your template on what to shave. Here is what I had to cut out of my intake. Not offset at all.

Re: AS&M 58mm TB offset??

Dave: Any idle issues? Any split BLM's? Did you have to do the brass fitting thing, from the link shown above?
