Re: as&m header questions PLEASE help
It took me a day and a half to install my entire system, I guess I spent a solid day on the headers as they were a bit of work to install. Bit of advise. Buy quality header gaskets. I used the crap they sent with the headers and I have been forever dealing with leaks. When I do the heads/cam swap I'm installing copper type gaskets.
I've never seen any power claims on the AS&M headers. My car picked up a crapload of power, but my system consisted of stock manifolds and y-pipe with a stock 3rd gen pipe leading to a turbo muffler and 2 inch tail pipe.
I beleive the stock cat is welded to the stock y-pipe. When I installed my AS&Ms. I installed a Random tech cat as well so this was no problem. If you are using the stock cat you will have to have a header type flange welded to the stock cat.
