Re: as&m headers

Just some info, they arent AS&M unless they have D ports. Dont let him sell you lower quality RK Sports saying they are AS&M. RK's have Oval ports. They are grear headers, had I not got a killer deal on my Hookers I'd have AS&M's.

No complaints here. I like them alot. One of the best headers you can buy for our cars.

Re: as&m headers

I've got both. Kook's are better by a long shot. The ASM/RKSport routing is terrible for plug access. I spent hours doing plugs with the ASM/RKSports. Kook's take less than an hour for the whole job. Don't get me wrong, the ASMs will make good power, and they're nice headers, but overall, the Kook's headers are way better and (I think) worth the price difference.

Re: as&m headers

I personally had a solid and repeatable gain of .5 and 5 MPH in the 1/4 with the addition of ASM headers and Random Tech cat and cat-back systems.

Plug access isn't the greatest, but if you know which plugs to get from the top and which to get from the bottom, have a u-joint and short extension, you're good. I can do my plugs in about 90 minutes start to finish now.

Probably THE BEST mid-length header on the market for us, and gives long tubes a run for the money too. Just ask Injuneer, he's got proof.

Re: as&m headers

I love mine and personally consitter them the best mid length for the money. I'm sure LT headers would get me a few more ponies but at the expense of my ground clearance and my converter. The only plug that is a real pain is #2, but it's better than stock.

If horsepower is you only goal, you don't have to pass emissions (or just don't care), and you can live with the loss of ground clearance. Go with the LTs. I chose AS&M headers because I have to pass emissions and would rather be legal at all times instead of just when I have to pass inspection.
