M155 oil pump good enough?

i bought a Lt1 to build up for my recent project. its gonna be a 355 with a stock crank, forged rods, mahle pistons, 2 bolt block etc. stock pan etc. basically a stock bottom end with better rods, pistons and bolts. AI200cc top end with custom cam, and ported intake. all bolt ons etc. well upon teardown of the motor (it was rebuilt before) it has a melling m155 pump in it. i was wondering if this pump is good enough for what i need it for? or should i get another? it came with the motor so its money saved. i heard they thinned out the castings of the new ones, is it worth it to run this replacement oil pump? as far as volume and oil pressure is concerned, is it good enough? the motor runs a stock pan and i plan on 6500rpms only. ive only delt with gen 1 sbc's before, im a gen 2 newb.

I believe the m155 and m55 both had weak castins that were known to break.
The melling select group is their good stuff iirc

The pump is fine if you like the weaker casting that you already know about.

The 155 is the same as the 55 but with a 3/4 inlet for the LT1 pickup tube instead of a 5/8 tube like the old engines. There is nothing wrong with it as long as you aren't going 4 wheeling or have really loose bearing clearances. I like the 10552 and 10555 M select pumps as a step up.
