M6 guys with 3.73's...please take a look!!

i want to know honestly..... have you guys noticed a difference from the 3.42's to the 3.73's???? i dont mean .5 seconds off the 1/4, but does the car actually feel stronger off the line?? i ask because i have the gears and install kit right here, and im schedule to get them installed on monday. i just hope im not wasting my money. all the auto guys seemed to notice a BIG difference, but thays because their gears were different to begin with! im not expecting the car to be a 10sec monster..... im just hoping to notice a difference! thanks in advance for any input!

i have a 95 ta stick with the 373s. to be be perfectally honest i will say yes it did make a difference. i installed the new gears 3 months ago so i havnt run the car yet but i will once the track opens. NO it didnt make a huge difference but enough to be worth it for me. i bought the slp set and had a friend help me, NOW if i paid more then 500 which i didnt i would be a little upset with the change in power. as far as pullin off the line mine doesnt because you need traction for that to happen. now that i have the nittos life is better but still to cold here to get traction. i would say go with it, but i wish that i went with the strange 12 bolt 373 myself, now that i have the money

alot easier to drive too...410 is way to much for these puzzy rearends... 373 is a good imbetween gear....

traction is worse though hoping nitto's and relocation brackets help...

I like my 3.73s. First gear is good but not too short. 6th gear is actually useable without going 65mph. I've had them in for over 4 years and they have worked well for me. I don't know if they would help much in the .25 mile, since I don't take my car to the track.

I really like my 373's but it was not as big of a diff as I thought. I went with a torsen, that is nice.

I think you will notice a bigger difference if you went with a 4.10

I have 3.73's and I like them alot. Right now, I don't really have enough done to benefit much from the 4.10's, but 3.73's are really a good all-round gear. They don't rap out your motor going down the interstate and they do make an improvement. After mine got installed, the car feels much more torquey now and I notice a big difference if I punch the pedal in 1st or 2nd gear!!! I don't think it helped the quarter time all that much, but I would do it over again if I had the choice!!!

I've got 3.73's in my '94. I love the way the car drives with them. It definitely feels quicker and stronger through the gears.

I'm sure you'll like them too!

Have fun!!!

hey ernster500..... did you really noticed a HUGE loss in traction?? are you driving around with nittos on?? i had nittos on my 95 Z and they dont last too long driving on the street! im def. going to get a set for the track, but i was hoping reg. street tires would be ok for the 3.73's.... thats pretty much why i chose the 3.73's over the 4.10's.
