Which Mac Shorty/Mid Header??

On Mac's web site they have 2 sets of headers. One for use with a cat and one that is a good bit different with longer pipes for each header and no way to use a cat...easily. Anyone know which is going to flow better? Thanks

The differences are in whether the car has a single or dual catalytic converters.

basically, 94-95 lt1 f-bodies were single cat (with the exception of some 95 california cars which cam with dual cats)

and 96-97 is when they switched over to dual cats.

Looking at your sig, It looks like you fall under the single cat category... which means you should be looking at your second link:

which is for single cat use.. (and the same set of headers I have)

The dual cat one dosent include cats...I dont plan to use a cat at all (maybe once a year) I am just wondering which one flows better. They also call the "dual cat" headers off road...
Thanks, Brad

Run the Mid length hedders. the flow very well. I had some on my 94 Z till it got totaled last august and i was very happy with the performance. Now they are on my 96 Z M-6 and once again i'm very happy with the performance.

I agree with Laredo, I run MAC MT headers W/O my cats and a custom 3" pipe all the way to the muffler. They flow very well, you may want to get them coated with something (wrap or spray coat) b/c they get VERY HOT. When i replace my engine ill be throwing these bad boys back on with a heat resistant coat. Also You can install them without taking very much out (had to disconnect the steering shaft and starter to get them in) Just take it slow and twist them when contacting fenders/engine block.

I have mac's on my car. They are nice but i really wish i would of went LT's cuz now i want to do true duals but im not until i have a LT header.

On the plus side i put down the numbers in the sig with them, no cat, e cutuot. but i know if i would have Lt's there would be a bigger hp- tq split.

B-Rad420, I see that you live in Memphis. I have the mac mids with the y-pipe on my car if you want to see what it looks like. Shoot me a pm and I will try to meet up with you.
