which mac's to use?
will a 94-95 mac headers and off-road ypipe kit fit my 96? and which would produce higher torqe, the 94-95 kit or the 95-97 kit with off-road? it looks like the 94-95 mac's have longer primarys. i do not want to get long tubes because i have a lowered car and drag way tooo much, but thx to tennessee not doing state wide emmisons testing, i dont have to worry about that mess (thank you, lord of power, for that boon "

first off, o*****ruta sorry about miss spelling your name
it was not ment to be insulting. and LT4firehawk, thx for the info, but there is still part of my question that no-one has answered and i cnat find in the searchs, and that is, do the earlyer headers make more power due to longer primarys? they look longer, but i cant tell for sure and cant find any measurments on primary lingth. thx

Yes, the 94/95 style should flow much better. The 96/97 style shorties are worthless due to the cat positon on the driver's side. There is no room for headers, and all the brands I've seen actually end up routing the driver's side shorty headers up from the exhaust ports and then down into the cat. The passenger side is the same as the 94/95 style. I'm sure it probably flows a little better than stock manifolds, but I wouldn't bother with them for the money/effort you'll have to spend. Either go with the 94/95 style shorties, or just go with long tubes.

Yes the 94-95 style flows much better than the dual cat set-ups. Since you are ditching your cat like I did and are going with an off-road pipe, which I did as well, you will see alot more power. I love my exhaust set-up and it sounds loud and powerful. Also, since I have a cat back flowmaster and live in Cali, I can barely touch the peddal and my car doesnt make a peep. (SAVED MY A$$ FROM LOTS OF TICKETS) but any touch of gas and it opens up quick. Get the 94-95 midlenght MACS and youll be happy !!

got me but mac's just left....i called jet-hot and chris said i could get a set of jet-hot LT's for $524 shipped i think ill go for the long tubes and duels, cause it is a lil more and long tubes rock!two of my friends got lt's on a cuda and a el camino and the are truly impresed by them, and seeming as one is a mechanic and the other drag races.... i think ill take it!!
