maf problems

basically my car is been under much construction. i bought my car used a few years ago with the knowledge of it having a ported maf. in the spring i bought a "so called" 95 z28 maf sensor. the diameter of it is 3 3/8". the maf sensor that was on my car is 3.5".

on the so called 95 z28 on that is 3 3/8" the number on the top says 9408 "1?" 820"1?" 2 (the "1?" indicates i can not read it but that is my guess
its bar code reads underneath 82280162(unreadable number)67

the one on my car that is 3.5" says 9356 8240 2
its bar code reads 82410052004

the numbers above are stamped in it, both say AC and have a ring around them on the black electronic device connected to it.
i am trying to figure out what is going on here, because the so called 95 z28 one by no means fits on my intake elbow or the elbow to the throttle body. this one also has a rubber ring around it, and it still does not come close to fitting on either side.

the 95 one also has a metal bar across it towards the throttle body, my ported one does not.

I was hoping somone could shed light and what was going on her, this way i could inform my tuner of what maf i am running.

i tried using gm parts direct part numbers but had no luck

Re: maf problems

Christian,
If you want I can compare it to the MAF in my 96? I used to have one from a 94 as well, but I sold it. Give me a call, tonight after 7:30 if comparing the 2 would help any.
