Maintenance Inspect / Repair @ 100,000
Hey, all. I have a 97 Z28 t-top 6spd that I bought used, and it came without the owner's guide. Anyone got some guidelines for what I should be checking and/or replacing at 100k plus? I've heard the water pump goes, the opti goes, and the timing chain (which is spurring an interest in cam jobs, since as long as I paid them to get that far.... but I digress) Anyway, any advice from those who have gone before me will be appreciated.

Check for the intake manifold leak. (Mine had it at 70K). Check the waterpump for leaks, know that the opti is running on borrowed time, check the rear for leaks, go ahead and change the fluids and plugs/wires unless you are positive when that was done. Just so you have a base to keep the maintenance up.

How about preventive stuff? How long are hoses good for? Full brake job just because, or just a check / replace if needed? Which fluids need looking at?
The rear just got redone last month, so that's good, and the plugs/wires are less than a year old.

I consider all that preventative stuff. I like fluid changes, they just are insurance in my mind. Belts and hoses are an inspection item to me. Ditto the brakes. Like I said, depending on the records you have from the other owner act accordingly. Do check that intake for the infamous leak, or records that it was already repaired. Any suspect fluids, from radiator to tranny, I would replace so that you knew where you stood mileage wise until the next change.
