me and this dam trans are gonna fight!
ok first off all the other day i broke my 2nd trans mount (a 1le mount at that) and i am kinda stuck on where to turn to now. at first i was thinking of getting another one but then i figured it would only be a couple months before i broke this one so i have decided to go with a poly one. second of all my freakin trans is tryin 2 play games on me. my trans has started makin this vibrating sound when i start going from a dead stop and sometimes in each gear. it also does this when i stall it up to about 2000rpms. ive been taking it easy since i started hearing this noise, im gonna take it back to the shop that rebuit it as soon as we get out of school for the summer (warranty), but does anyone know what this is.

naw, the vibration is what i think im hearing, i dont feel any vibration, it justs sounds like there is metal vibrating somewhere right under the center console (im thinking its somethin inside the tranny)

The reason why the factory mount is rubber is because the rubber disipates road noise real well. When you go to the poly, your gonna hear more 'mechanical' or 'road' noise b/c the poly (although way stronger) doesnt disipate the sounds/vibrations.
But....although you'll notice more 'noise' I dont think you'll have considerable 'vibration' with just a poly trans mount. Its just like having poly LCA mounts, they transfer a little rear end sound that the rubber would absorb. For example, my gears are quite tight and the slight whine got real loud after a Sphon PH rod and Lakewood LCA's.
If your trans mount is broken (like completely in 2) it might be the front U-Joint is out of line (IE: the tailshaft is kicked a little to one side and maybe sitting lower than its supposed to. Also, under torque, but not necessarily hard driving, the rear of the trans can and will move around, throwing your drivetrain out of line.)
You could have also damaged the front U-Joint by driving with a broken trans mount.
Good Luck!

If it sounds like you are throwing around a aluminum can under your car. You might have somehow gotten something inside of your trans inspection cover (cover that hides the convertor)
I have seen a few cars where the rear main bolts back out and fall down there, a convertor mounting bolt, another person dropped a piece of metal while working on his car with his starter removed and where did it fall but in the notch for the starter.
If they stay in there long enough it will crack the housing.
It is a shot in the dark if you wanna take a look in yours.
