Call your pan manufacturer and they will have a pickup to go with the pan, that's the BEST one.

Re: melling M55 Oil pump Question!!!

There is a pin that holds the spring in... tap it out... replace spring... put back holding pin.

The M55A has the high pressure spring, that's why I mentioned it!

Re: melling M55 Oil pump Question!!!

so that pump would take the abuse of everyday driving, and the shock of hard revs and extended use in a 383 stroker pushing 450 rwhp? If so, I'm sold!

heres to bring this post back to life with a new twist of a question. take a canton f-body pan then order a m55a pump (notice on most sites it doesnt list the tube size) then order a canton 20-013 pickup and you will be screwed. that pick up is listed for small block chevy and that pan. well it is for 3/4 size pump (factory size) called canton they said, "send the pump back order the m55 pump and change the spring, all of it is on our site". so hes telling me that there are no pickups made for that pan to fit the m55a pump??? someone has got to have the answer for this on here. any part numbers floating around in someones head that wants to pop out for me lol.

Re: melling M55 Oil pump Question!!!

The M55 series pumps are 5/8" inlet
The M155 series are 3/4" inlet

You need a Canton part # 20-020 pick-up for the 5/8 inlet.

Re: melling M55 Oil pump Question!!!

SOOO this is the first I have heard of using a stock volume HIGH PRESSURE pump. What is the pressure when you use the m55 pump? I guess the point of stock volume is so it DOESNT suck the pan dry???

*parts list

- m55 pump with a 5/8 inlet
-canton pickup #20-020 for the 5/8 inlet

Thanks !!! ---

Re: melling M55 Oil pump Question!!!

Is the canton pickup ONLY for the canton pan or is that the pickup I want for a stock pan when using the m55? Thanks ---
