Oh, and also, what kind of compression do the Impalla motors have? Its 10:1 isnt it? How much boost are you able to run on them without problems.

Different cam is what makes the difference. 15 more HP, and 5-10 less TQ. The Caprice/SS cam is designed for that down low power. I think the fbody motor has less compression or the same. I know the fbody head gasket is thicker. Our compression is around 10:1. I run 8psi of intercooled boost. That is the most with a decent tune. If you have a perfect tuner, maybe 10psi. But I wouldn't push it.

The best I have got is 14.25@100.53 with a 2.4 60ft at 4200ft altitude and weight at 4550. That was with 8psi, full exhaust and 1.6 rollers.

Wow, you have quite a challenge there. You are way up in the sky and have a heavy car. I guess whats the fun in going fast if there is no challenge to get there. Do you know what your corrected times would be for sea level?

Corrected that day should be around a 12.7 with good traction. I am in Korea now, and get back for one month in July before I head to Germany. I am installing CMotorsports stage 1x heads and a custom CC cam before the big Tulsa B-body get together in July. We'll see how she does then.

Well, I just talked to the guy and he said it does have all of the accessory brackets and all of the accessorys, and starter. This could work out pretty nice for me. I am supposed to go up tomorrow and check it out. I hope it turns out to have been the intake.

Sorry, but I am not familiar with where the Impalla air box is. Do you have a pic or something? I was just wondering if I could make this wiring work in my car of if I would need something like painless.

It would be under where my filter now is.

Yeah, that is Dale Baseman's SS. It is nice, but there are a few faster.

If you are still wondering I had an intake leak that made the engine smoke.

The oil was getting sucked into either the #5 or #8 cyclinder especially when I got on it and it would smoke. A buddy of mine who I had blown by said I was smoking. I fixed the intake leak and voila no more smoky.

You may have a chance that it is just the intake.

Well, I am getting it. I looked at the intake gasket, and it did appear to have had an intake leak. The gasket looked like it wasnt sealing back by the #8 cylinder and it appeared to have had oil in that cylinder so it looked like it was leaking into the motor a little as well as out the back. The cylinder walls appear good. There is not enough of a ridge to catch your finger nail, and you can still see the cross hatch pattern slightly. I will have it looked at and see what all I need to do to it I guess but I gave him a down payment so it will be mine.
