Which mod next
I'm currently running high 8's to low 9's in the 1/8th mile and my current mods are LM catback, 160 thermostat, pcmforless programming, slp cai, and a shift kit. I was wondring what mod would be best to get next for my car without messing with the heads or boreiing over the engine. I was thinking either cam or headers and I know i really need slicks or drag radials but I don't have the money to buy a new rear end and I know the sotck 10 bolts don't hold up well.

Torque converter... the stock 10-bolts are hit and miss, some people break them with STOCK cars, and some have heavly modified cars working fine on the stocl 10-bolt. I have personally gone 1.7's in the 60' with my 10-bolt and know of and seen many go 1.5xx's.

I'd do 3.73 rear gears, converter and headers in that order. Dont be afraid of the 10 bolt , it's the 6 speeds that have the most trouble with them.
I have a butload uf sub 12.00 second passes on my 10 bolt.

Re: Which mod next
torque converter will be your best bet, and gears if you have the crappy 2.73s.
engine wise, headers are a must, they will benefit any other power mod you do after that.

Re: Which mod next
I've heard that the slp lm exhaust sounds "not good" with headers and no cat. I just finished putting headers on my 95 with a hooker cat back and cat and it sounds wild! It is a noticible difference and I dont even have my computer programmed for it yet!

bob-o your car is not going to really gain anything from a tune and it won't sound any different save your money and put it towards something that you would need to tune like a cam or something but just bolt on's thats a waste.

Re: Which mod next
Right now, your biggest restriction is your stock manifolds. Let the car breathe! If you put a cam in there as it sits, the cam probably won't reach its greatest potential until there are some headers on there...

well, I believe that Yank or Vigilante are the best but you are going to pay for it. If you don't want to pay as much, TCI is suppose to make a really good converter. I'm getting a Midwest stall converter for my car really soon and I have not heard anything bad about them either. The only thing on top of the cost of the converter is the fact you will need to buy a tranny cooler.
