Would I need an AFPR for my 93 with this cam? Or is the stock fuel supply sufficient?

The stock fuel pressure regulator is fine, but you will definately need the computer programmed for that cam. I'm running a 230/236 cam in my 93 and it took some major changes in the VE tables to get it running properly.

I had Alvin at pcmforless do a tune for me, so I assume everything there was taken care of.

does the programming actually allow the computer to tell it to supply more fuel?

As far the first - you probably dont need a adjustable fuel regulator, unless you're current fp is to high or low. You can ask your tuner at what fp he turned for, then check to see if that's what you have.

my friend insists that I NEED an afpr to bump up my pressure for this cam.

I've been tuning a friend's car that has this cam. He has stock heads, but a full exhaust with headers. We are seeing injector duty cycles over 90% above 6200 rpm. This is at stock fuel pressures. It would not hurt to raise your fuel pressure if you are going to stick with the stock injectors.

I'd assumed that if Alvin tuned it, he didnt let the duty rates get to high. Ask him, before you go messing with the fuel pressure. If you do ending up raising the fuel pressure to lower the duty cycle, you're going to need to have him cut a new chip.
