a motor full of water :(
im in the process of doing a head and cam change. my car has been sitting for about a year but have had the heads off for about 4 months. i got ready to drop the oil pan and i noticed some water dripping from the front of the pan where the timing cover meets. i thought maybe it was just some from on the motor or something but when i took the plug out of the pan out guess what came out the the my oil pump and the tips of the crank n rods have that oil/water mix on them... i didnt see any visual rust but i still know its not good. is there any way i can fix this without having to rebuild right now or am i screwed and sure to spin a bearing when i get ready to start it up?

Re: a motor full of water :(
while i had the cam n stuff out i poured oil in the holes n stuff in the lifter valley but it just ran through. i was wandering about that though...if i just spin it over by hand for a while will the oil get back to everything it needs to. also would it help to put some lucas in it too?

Re: a motor full of water :(
Get an oil pump primer and prime the oiling system...so this for awhile and spin it over. You may also want to pull the rod cap(s) that were submerged to check for signs of rust before doing that. If it checks OK then I wouldn't worry about it too much.
