Don't know about the solid mounts, but the poly energy suspension ones i have are great, and should last longer with the abuse of my 396. the only draw back they make it harder to reach the bell housing bolts because the engine does not sag as much with the tranny out.

I think solid mounts would be a bit harsh for a street driven car.

Uh, you have no reason to go w/ solid mounts at this point.

Stick with poly's or stockers.

I've been told solid ones would make the body of the car move when I step on the accelerator. I think that would be kinda cool!

Of course, solid mounts would also cause massive false knock and result in far less power with timing pulled way back.

But you go for cool, while I, with poly mounts, drive by like you're sitting still.

You would need a LOT more torque and HP then you have to make the body of a 4th Gen. move.

I have run the solids and I got the set here if you want to purchase them.
I did not like them too much b/c obvisously they take out any movement so when I put in the K-member it was a PITA b/c the K had a solid passenger side mount and the driver side was also solid, took me forever to get most of it lined up.
I will also say that the solid may create problems with the Knock Sensor since it should transmilt more noise thru the block. I turned mine off so I do not know for sure.
I had these on the bolt on car which was not driven on the street hardly at all. I will say I did not notice any more vibration, but did notice the open headers and Rod Ended TA mount over anything else.

He's suggesting that your car with the solid mounts will detect false knock and pull timing and go slower, his will not.

I have no problems with stock on mine. But do NOT go solid unless it's a race car. With solids, it'll rattle and vibrate like a ****.
