MSD 6AL Install....

OK I'm new to all this stuff so I got some ?s.....

Where is the coil and how do I know which is the positive side and which is the negative? It says I need to connect to a 12 volt source? What does that mean?

the heavy red is the battery positive--heavy black is solid ground (negative) if I were you save the aggravation and also buy the adapter kit for it to directly connect and no splicing.

ok yes you connect to the coil. Did you get this used? The new ones have instructions so I gotta ask. Coming from your ignition module its a pink wire for the coil positive and a white wire for the coil negative ,stock. If you get the adaptor you save alot of hassle for less than $30, but if your not:
Big red to battery, big black to the ground.
Orange (+)and small black(-) go to the coil
Little red (+) and white (-) go the cars pink and white

All install instructions are at MSDs web site and the harness is well worth the money so that you don't have to hack up your wiring. It will also give you the capability of removing it and going back to stock in only a few minutes for troubleshooting.
