MSD Question

Sorry i'm still new to the LT1 and don't know too much about it yet. I have to replace the opti-spark so I figured i'd upgrade the distributor and coil to msd. I plan to start doing some bolt on mods when i'm done. Nothing crazy like heads or cams yet. So my question is should I bother getting an msd box? My friend is an LT1 fanatic and he told me there is no need to upgrade the ignition system but I thought i'd get a second opinion.

Re: MSD Question

You don't really need an MSD box on a stock car. It won't hurt anything, though.
The MSD opti has not been released for sale yet, just the cap and rotor is available right now.

I guess I'll have to find a different one then. Is the accel opti any good?

neither the MSD nor the Accel exist yet. They are just pretty pictures.
