Muffler/exaust preferences

Pretty sure the noise is coming from the muffler. I was up under the rear end listening while running. Any ways, I have a flowmaster and was thinking about upgrading or changing. I can't exactly afford duals or headers right now, so I will have to settle with a new muffler. Any suggestions on any other brands considering price, performance, sound, et cetera. Best bang for the buck.

thanx guys

You probably won't gain much just swapping the mufflers, but if you want to get a new one anyway I'd go with a Magnaflow muffler.

Nothing beats the sound of a MAC Flowpath muffler!! Just my humble opinion!

Hey guys, thanx for the reply, but keep in mind that I will eventually move up to something more free flowing. For the moment I am getting some body paint done and waiting on parts in the mail, so I'm a little short on money. So basically I will replace the muffler and go from there in a couple of months.

I don't know if it's possible for a baffle to come loose in a the mufflers, but there is wierd rattling sound coming from the muffler. guess that's about it.

later

Thumbs up

I just bought my car and was very surprised by the sound. It has a Borla y-pipe and edelbrock muffler with stock exhaust tips and cat, sounds awesome. Not too loud, but just right, deep and refined. So theres $350 I dont have to spend on a catback for awhile. So my vote goes for the Edelbrock muffler!
