the other day i decided to take my car for a ride because the roads were clear and it was 40 degrees, i got about 3 miles down the road and my car started missing really bad and then the tac started twitching really fast, the car stalled out and the tac kept twithchin between 0 and about 2500. i tried to restart it and the tac would bounce everytime i turned it over. i put a brand new opti in last august when i did my cam swap and it has about 1800 miles on it. i was wondering if it is possible that moisture got in there with it sitting. i did a vented opti conversion and i didnt hook a vacuum to the bottom of it, can moisture get in that hole? the twitching tac is really bothering me. after i let the car sit for about half an hour it started right up but when i went back down the road it would not rev past 4500, it would just sit there and miss like it did when my opti was bad. any help would be appreciated. only other though is that a mouse got hungry and decided to eat some wires somewhere.

My opti crapped after my car sat thru the winter. I have no idea why, but it just did, perhaps moisture. Then again mice love wires, the insulation is like candy to them. Check as many things as possible before going to the beloved opti.

Sounds like the opti to me too, had the same problem recently. Its the optical part of the opti that reads the wheel inside.
