My first opti problems

My first opti problems
Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later but my opti is causing problems. I have a heavily bolted onto 1996 Z28 M6 BTW. Only ignition mods are Accel opti, ICM cooling mod, OTVC wires, TR55s, and an MSD coil.
I've put less than 3000 miles on this optispark and already I'm having problems. When at or near redline, any fluctuation in RPM causes the engine to stall. Then it won't start again until it randomly decides to. The reason I mention fluctuation is that it first did this during a recreational burnout when the rev limiter causes that high RPM bouncing. Then today for some troubleshooting, I revved it up to to about 5500ish in 1st gear and played with the throttle and it died again.
Now I wouldn't suspect ignition problems BUT, I have a OBDII scanner (scantool) so I pulled the code P1371-"Distributor Ignition (DI) low resolution circuit"
Heres my question: Could there be ANY other cause for this problem other than wiring?
I took out the harness that goes between the opti and PCM harness and checked it visually and with a multimeter, I also inpected the connection at the opti and everything looks fine. The connector going into the PCM harness looks fine too.
I can't think of any reason why the opti wouldn't be the problem but maybe someone out there can help me.
Thanks.

Re: My first opti problems
The code is for the opti. If you have exhausted all other ignition related items in your car and they all check out okay, then I would say the opti is your culporate.
The opti itself should not go out that soon without something else causing it to go out. More than likely if your water pump is going bad, this can leak on the opti and cause it to go out. Or if you have recently powerwashed your engine bay that will also take it out, or if you got any moisture in general to the opti, it also will fry.

Re: My first opti problems
I did a ton of mods last winter and I also put a new vacuum harness in too. I have a Meziere 43GPM and there seems to be no coolant leak under there but it's hard to tell until I pull everything out.
MSD will be the replacement.
