Re: My LT1 feels sluggish...
Sorry for the waste of money on the MAF cleaner...... I think you can check it with a meter to see if there is some voltage fluctuation, but not sure on that. You could ask Injuneer or someone with more knowledge what that voltage should be..... Or if you have some scanning software and a plug you can check and see what you mass flow rate is into the motor.....Not sure with an OBD2 how easy this is though....

I'm still not sure why a faulty MAF would cause an upward pressure on the accel pedal?????
The 97 (OBD-II) should also set a code if the MAF reading is not consistant, within a certain percentage, of the mass air flow calculated using the speed-density method.

What would cause the upward pressure? The car feels stronger with it unplugged but perhaps it's just s lightly better but not 100%. I haven't driven it enough to know.

When I had the hood open with the car running it was so fumey and stinky and once I replaced the filter it went away. It just slipped my mind to ever even look at it, I really just forgot about it. I am sure that my MAF is filthy or perhaps I even did permanent damage to it.

Re: My LT1 feels sluggish...
Just thought I would update this.... I pulled my battery out to put it into another car. It was out for an hour or so.
When I put it back in and started the car out, the hiccup and missing was gone and it was much, much smoother.
The car is running what seems to be 100% and has no misfire whatsoever.
This is strange because after I fiddled with and cleaned the MAF, I pulled the pcm bat fuse for about a minute and put it back in.
Perhaps the PCM just needed a good reset?
Feels good to be back up to power.
