My mpg is great! Am I just lucky?
Today I drove back to school from Dallas ( ~ 235 miles) and got gas. I tallied it up and ended up getting somewhere around 27.3 MPG! This is all going mostly at 80 mph or above, and there was a little headwind. I also did around 4 or 5 4th gear passes at 90-100 mph! I LOVE my 6-spd. My only mods are: G2 CAI, LT4 KM, gutted cat, spiro-pro wires, NGK plugs, and MSD coil. On more than one occasion I have seen 29 mpg on this same drive in ultimate conditions.
Is this normal?! It seems that most people I talk to can't believe it, and I see other guys on here with not too many mods talking about how much gas mileage they've lost.
Tell me what you get with your mods.
Kyle
Oh, and by the way, this is on an engine that has 138,xxx miles on it! It's never been cracked open and doesn't drop a single bit of fluid!

Doesn't sound far fetched at all. They can get good gas mileage, provided you do your job of keeping your right foot out of it Plus that 6th gear is nice on the 3.42 ratio for crusing. I just got 4.10s put in, not sure how 6th will be now. Haven't tightened everything down on the rearend or bled the brakes. But eventually when the car comes out I will see how 6th is now. I really don't care what kind of mileage I get anyway. So, I am not in 6th too often saving gas anyway But it is nice to know it is there if needed...

Sounds right. My record is 31.3 mpg, and I have many 28 mpg trips.
The 6 speed helps a lot. My car was stock when I got those numbers.
By the way, the average mpg for the life of my car with 64,000 miles is 21.5 mpg. I've kept track of milage every fill up, and after 64,000 miles I think it's pretty good to average 21.5 mpg over the life of the car so far. I don't baby it in town either, but it's a split of 50/50 city/highway miles.

You M6 guys suck. I filled up today and got 219 miles to a tank. Thats with 50/50 highway and town milage. It came out to around 15mpgs. Thats with 3200 stall, gears, Nittos @ 22psi and free mods and 150k on the clock. My 02's are pretty dirty so I'm hopin' the MPG's will clime a bit once I replace them.
Driving 5 or so hours at 70 mph, I got around 400-425 miles a tank driving to the coast.

I'm getting 13.5 mpg in town/country, 18-19 on the highway in my truck. stall converter... wish I had a t-56, I love em.
change your o2s, it's past time.
