Question need advice

i just bought another lt1 car a 95 camaro z28 everything seems to be fine ,all stock except the exhaust is dumped right under the passengers seat it has factory manifolds, y-pipe, then about a 2 feet of 2 1/2 in. pipe dumped, it sounds kinda cool i like the noise , except when im on the highway going about 70 then let off the gas it vibrates and pops a little , my buddy told me it wasnt good for the valves , is this true , is it ok to drive like this until i get a full exhaust , or should i leave it alone?

Your not going to burn up or damage your valves, you'll be fine. All of the popping and extra noise is just a result of not having your exhaust hooked up to a muffler anymore.

You are bypassing the muffler and essentially running an exhaust cutout which many of us use. Cutout are well documented for providing gains so long story short, you should be seeing a power increase from what you did.
