Need help with 6" rod for 355
I am rebuilding an LT1 and need some help for a connecting rod. I read thru the searches I found but no real defining info given on what kind of rod to use for different set ups. Seems more like a personal preference, and opinion on company products. The engine will be as follows:
stock 2 bolt main block .030 over
Line hone mains ( studded main caps)
stock crank polished
stock replacement oil pump with white spring
Wiseco flat tops - 5.4cc Pro Lites 11.1 w / 58cc chamber (386g ) 3.48" stroke 6" rod
Ai cam 208 / 221 525"/ 540" 112LSA
Stock heads cleaned up flow about 240cfm intake 170cfm exhaust
This setup is going into a 95 M6 vert full weight DD with 3.42 rear, will have MAC headers, borla catback. Giving as much info as possible so I dont have questions posted for answers that I need.....
I need to know what rod would be a better fit for the set up and not sure yet but considering a 125 shot later down the road.
6" Scat Pro Comp I beams 7/16"
6" Scat H beams
stock 2 bolt main block .030 over
Line hone mains ( studded main caps)
stock crank polished
stock replacement oil pump with white spring
Wiseco flat tops - 5.4cc Pro Lites 11.1 w / 58cc chamber (386g ) 3.48" stroke 6" rod

Yes, to the 58cc chamber question. So with the Scat I beams, they will be enough for 125 shot as well? I was thinking that they should be enough considering I am really not reving high, or pushing alot of N20. What do you think as far as Hp, Tq...?? I was thinking around 330 whp and around the same for wtq....is that a fair estimate.....tune with pcmforless and stock injectors....
Also, Wiseco does not list the piston as being capable of taking any spray....they are forged, lightweight, flat tops with 2 valve reliefs...strutted pistons....thats all it says on the website...Any thoughts??
