Ok so i have a 96 z28. Recently, the engine gave out so i bought a 94 corvette engine. It was about 900 bucks with 59k. I didnt come with the wiring harness tho.. Well i thought there was just really minor things to change on that engine to make it run on my z28 . Turns out im wrong lol Im really lost and i need help knowing what i need in order to get it running on my camaro. I noticed the distributor on the camaro and the one on the corvette are differnt. how am i gonna make this work??

Re: Need help!!!
The 94 Corvette LT1 has an unvented Opti, with a type 1 harness connector. Your 96 had a vented Opti with a type 2 harness connector. You need a new, short harness from the gray connector on the passenger side of the intake manifold to the Opti.
The 94 Corvette has a 4.5Kohm knock sensor, Your 96 had a 100Kohm knock sensor. You need to swap knock sensors. Using the 4.5Kohm sensor with your 96 PCM will set a code and cause the PCM to default to high timing retard values.
The 94 does not have a crank position sensor in the timing cover. Your 96 had a CKP. The 96 PCM needs the CKP sensor for misrifre detection. Without the sensor, you will need to delete the CKP from the PCM diagnostics.
The 94 does not have an EVAP vacuum detector switch. Your 96 had the switch on the passenger valve cover. Swap valve covers.
Buying a 94 harness is not the best solution, because you will have interface problems (pinout differences) with the body connectors, and you will not have the connections for the after cat O2 sensors, the EVAP switch of the CKP. They could be "programmed out" of your 96 PCM, but its a lot easier to just keep the 96 harness, which is compatible with the 96 body connectors.
