Need help! 93 fresh 383 barely runs????
Hello all.
Here is my problem:
After replacing the opti spark unit the car started but barely ran at around 500rpm, it would not clime up in the rpm.
We had a snapon scanner on it and ignition timing was varying from 5-10 degrees and that should be plenty to get it up in rpm's.
The O2 sensors are going up and down like they should, we have plenty of fuel and we tried to change the pressure settings and nothing happened.
Now I'm thinking it might be the computer (ecm) unit that has gone bad, I have newer heard or driven this car since I bought it with the engine out.
The chip is stock and the injectors are 24# units, but that should not keep the car from running pretty normally.
It has a fairly big hydraulic roller cam and close to stock compression ratio.
I am kind of stop here and don't know what do do, if anyone has some input on this matter please let me know, any help would be super.
Thanks, Jon.

If it's a modified 93 car, with infact the original 93 computer ( OBD ) not even OBD1 that came in the 94 and later models, that is your problem. They are very picky , you have to tune that chip. I recommend talking to Alvin @
http://www.pcmforless.com
He did my chip and I am actaully having him redo mine for a larger setup with heads etc.. Since I decided to do more then just the hotcam kit. He is very good at tuning and will fix your tunes as long as you send him logs of the car for up to six months at no charge.
Tell him Paul from the speed density forum -93z286spd refered you to him. He will take care of you.
