Need help asap!

well my car won't start. i went to get in to go for a cruise like 5 mins ago, it started but didn't idle for **** like 600 rpms so i decided to shut it off adn try it again. No luck at all until i held it to the floor. even then it didn't idle then it died. so i pop the hood and i notice it smoking where the thottle body is. well the donkey dong intake wasn't on there on the bottom so i pulled it off to put it back on properly. well in doin so i broke a little plastic line that happens to run right under the intake. i have picts of it i just don't know how to post them on here.

Please help me. i'm suppose to drive the car back for easter on sunday but now idk if i'll be able to

that line goes to the EVAP canister in the left rear of the car.

I was about to say the same thing. I am not sure if you can buy just the part that broke but it would be an easy fix with some hose and a couple clamps.

k thanks guys! well what should i do then? i'm guessing that it idled funny was because "un metered" air was getting into the car? (or am i way off ) and is that line really that necissary? and am i safe to drive it 450 miles round trip this weekend?

you should be able to run a rubber hose in its place till youcan get a new one. and no, your not getting unmetered air into the intake

The leak in the elbow that you fixed most likely caused your bad idle. I had all kinds of weird performance loss from a rip in mine.

As far as that evap line, just buy a couple of small band clamps and some tubing as mentioned above and it should make the 450 mile drive no problem.

Order part later.

well i took the car out for a drive and it died. so i guess i won't be making the trip...there was coolant under the car right up front so i'm guessing a water pump seal went out and dripped onto the opti and got it wet. So hopefully that's all that it is.

Cuz i was driving about about 50 mph the engine was running at temp. then it started sputtering. so i pulled off and let it set. sure enough there was coolant right up front. At least i'm praying that that's all it is is a pump seal.

Please pray for me.

Andrew

At least it happened now, and not while you were on the road, leaving you up S*** creek.

I was going to add one final caveat at the end of my previous post, "assuming nothing else goes wrong." I decided against it, as it would have been bad luck, but I guess it wore off anyways.

Like said at least it didnt break down in the middle of your trip. Good luck getting it fixed, and please keep us updated.

What else could it be do you think? it's a fairly new water pump(at most 8k miles) the car drove 890 miles in one day two weeks ago. no problems got 29mpg happy as hell that i bought the car. now this happens. it has been cold the past 3 days here, like 28 degrees cold so maybe she just don't like the climate? lol

well they hooked it up today and two codes came up: PO335, and PO336. one is the crank shaft sensor, and that's why he said it wasn't starting and why it was missfiring. as for the coolant leak. he said that the timing cover had coolant all around it. i was like wtf? that shouldn't leak coolant. so needless to say it was gonna be $1100 bucks to fix. seems kinda odd where the coolant is leaking from though.

It could be that coolant is peeing out of the weep hole or leaking from the gasket onto the timing chain cover. It is located right there in front of the engine as well.
