Need help ASAP removing steering linkage!
I'm installin some Hooker LT's and ran into a prob, I can't get the steering linkage off! I hafta finish this tonight cuz I hafta drive my car tomorrow. I took off the upper bolt connecting to the steering column, and I took off a bolt near the bottom, and it'll wiggle around but I can't get it at the right angle to pull both ends off and get it out.
Any tips/tricks I need to know? I jacked the front up higher so I could move the wheel around and all... but I still can't get it off!
Please help ASAP! Or if anyone in Houston wants to make some late night cash tonight gimme a call on my cell, 281-923-2507 and I'll pay you to help me out

From what I remember, you should be able to get one end off then the other. I remember wiggling at it for a good 5-10 minutes or so because these things are not supposed to come off easily. Just keep working at it and be patient with it. Maybe throw some lube or grease on it to loosen it up?

I didn't have to remove the steering linkage. The long tubes have a slip fit on the drivers side that you slide on around the linkage. You shouldn't ahve to even removeit for the stock manifolds to come off..

I thought I would be able to do that too.
I had to remove the top half of the steering linkage, the bottom part can stay on. Just hulk out on it and you will see the top part move up and down, now comes the hard part you will have to pry it off there and once the header is in pry it back on. You have to get the two pieces into the right spot and then with a screwdriver pry up and and towards the motor and it will go back together.
Yes it is a PITA, it was the hardest part of my LT install.
