How much did your STI weigh? Wikipedia shows recent models with a curb weight in the range of 3,250 - 3375#. The 4th Gen Camaro weighs about the same.

On higher HP applications it makes sense to go right to long tubes, although many people have had success with mids as well.

Block huggers will not work on an f-car - you need headers designed for the tight confines of the LT1 engine bay.

Pacesetters are a good budget header. I would have them ceramic coated prior to install, but a stainless header (like LPPs, Kooks, etc.) is the real way to go.

Re: need help building 450rwhp street car

I was about to say I had a 06 STI and it was about the same weight if not a bit lighter than my Trans Am... On a second note yes I love the sound of my V8 specially with cut-out opened but if you owned a STI you know that the 4 Cyl Boxer engine is up there with good sounds and exhaust note... Very different from any other 4 cyl (I can spot a subaru just from the exhaust...)

Back to original post. I would consider using Nitrous if you want a 10 second car that is very streetable as well. It can be done all motor but on the street you will enjoy more a 400 whp car compared to a 450 whp and with a 100 shot it will get you down the track in the time you want. Also if short block is built properly you can probably use a lot more Nitrous
