need help clearing up minor issues on older 700R4 into a 93 Camaro...
Here's the situation. I have a 93 Z28 (700R4/4L60) automatic. I found an older style 700R4 trans out of a chevy 2wd truck and need help figuring out everything I need to make it work in my car, if it can be done (because I can get the trans with 4X,000 miles for $100.)
1) the 5 prong connector in 93, versus 4 prong on the older trans. From what I understand, I can take my 5 prong from my current trans and switch it with the 4 prong in the other trans.
2) wiring (I assume there is some internal wiring that is easy to get to with the pan/valve body/filter removed?) Can I just swap my 93 wiring into the older trans fairly easily?
3) input shaft - I have heard that I need a 30 spline input shaft, is this correct? What would be the problem if the other trans has a 27 spline?
4) tailshaft - do I just unbolt mine and slap it on the older transmission?
5) Torque arm mount - I hear there may be issues in the older 700r4, like no mounting holes on the side to bolt the torque arm up
Am I missing anything? Am I on the right track? What all will be involved with the conversion?
I thank you SO MUCH if you can offer any advice.
Thanks!

First call your local Chevy dealer in town. Read your vin number and they will tell you if you have a 460 or 700r4. they made both in 93. I have the 700r4. If you have the 700r4 you will have to get a tailshaft with the arm on it for that year(1993). You have to visually check the speedometer cable, could be mechanical or electrical(mine is electrical). this is also in the tailshaft(sensor plug is electrical). also 700r4 has to have tvcable, runs along drivers side of linkage. This is all I know.goodluck.Pickerman
