Question Need help on heads, intake and cam combo

Ok guys I need alot of info here. I have a 96 Z28 6-speed with alot of bolt-ons. I have just brought a set of long tube headers 1" 3/4 pacesetters. I am wanted to know what combo would be the best to go with on heads, intake and cam. This combo keep in mind that I will be running a stock block and I will be spraying it with 150 shot of nos. Later my plans are to build a 383 stroker and either run a supercharger or continue to spray my goal is to get in the low 11s to high 10s. The way my car sets right now it should run 12.90s to 13.10s with the current setup before the headers. So I am just looking for a good top end for the car. I sure hope you guys can help me.

I would recommend the LE2 head/cam/ported intake set-up

But you will be pushing the limits of the stock bottom end using that plus a 150 shot of NOS

Where would I get that combo and what kind of flow #s etc are we talking about???????? What kind of dollars are we talking about. I also we need 1.6 rr and timing chain.

Keep in mind guys I am not going to change the injectors right now, I am going to stay with the stock injectors until a complete build, just trying to find a good combo for the right money, would love to be able to get my car in the low 12s just on motor. I am thinking with what I have on my car, with the addition of a 58 mm TB, Long Tubes and a nice head, cam, intake and 1.6 rr, timing chain I should be able to get my car into the 12.20s to 12.30s, then on top of that I will spray the car into the low 11s. I was reading in the chevy high performance about the new Eldebrock LT4 heads, intake, and cam was wonder what people thought about those and what would be the best way to go. thanks again.

I think you will find that most people on here will NOT have good things to say about Edelbrock stuff on LT1's....

Right here says it all. And no your not going to get away with stock injectors and or the stock fuel pump.

I don't have a stock fuel pump, I have a 255 intank, plus I have the inline pump with the NOS kit. Is there no way I can use the stock injectors safely or do I really need to change them. I am trying to get by as cheap as I can, but also I want to do it right, so that these parts can be used on the build later.

A set of 30 or 36lb injectors will fit the bill now (H/C) and later when you build the 383.

I would stay away from the Edelbrock stuff altogether. You can get a very nice heads/cam setup from Lloyd and he can even do portwork on your existing intake manifold as well.

i used my stock injectors with stock pump plus a in-line pump up to 427rwhp. i never tried to push it beyond that but that was maxing out the injectors. you will get people that disagree and say you can't do it. if your head cam car makes 427 rwhp ,then you will be breaking some records and hearts. so you will be fine on the fuel aspect of your setup with stock injectors. just make sure your pressure will stay, when you spray. if not you will make big boom lol.

I agree on shopping around for your setup. Also, don't forget you're going to need a tune. If you're spending all the money on a H/C combo, but don't wanna get new injectors, then you're going about it all wrong. Injectors are relatively cheap, in fact, you can easily skip the 58mm TB and get them instead.
