Need Help with LT's

ohk I just got done changing out the gasket on the right side for the 3rd time and placed the stock gaskets on that side. I got the bolts all tight and I fired it up and it leaked threw the middle tubes. I'm really getting sick of this my old man said he thinks the headers broke on the inside part that sits up against the head and thats why it's not sealing. He also said he thinks it will fill up with carbon after I drive it more otherwise we may have to weld it. I drove it about 300 miles and it seemed to get a little better but the god forsaken noise is still noticeable. What do you think I should do? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Definitely sounds like there is a problem... as much as it sucks, I would take the header off and check that the flange for straightness and then make sure there are no apparent cracks or damage.

Re: Need Help with LT's

how to u go abouts making teh bolts tight?

the right pattern is from the inside bolts to the outside bolts

not doing it this way could warp a flange

try it out and c what happens

Re: Need Help with LT's

I hadn't really made a pattern for tightening the bolts I pretty much tightened them all 1/2 turn at a time until I couldnt get them tight anymore. Just to clarify you mean to start with the 2 bolts that are in the middle of the flange and work my way to the ends?

Ok I just got an idea but I'm not sure if it will work so please post ur comments. I still have another stock gasket so if I doubled them up on the PS where the leak is do you think that could fix my leak?
