Need ideas on tires??

Well i need some good tires for my Z. Right now i have some garbage generic tires on my car right now, and i slide all over the road and look like a drunk-lol. Anyone have any ideas on a good set of tires for me?? I was looking at some Nittos but what really turns me away is they only last 6000 miles? I would have to buy three sets a year : ( Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, a price and a good place to get the tires online would be great too!

Check out tire rack on the web, usually pretty good prices. I have a set of BFG T/A Zr's right now, they seem to pretty well. Just for street use I have dr's for the track.

My vote is for firestone firehawk SZ50's.
Im running Bridgestone RE730's right now, they handle great, last a long time, great in the rain, but on the noisy side and they could only get me a 2.3 60 foot time on 17 inch rims.
So i got nitto drag radials for the back. They will last you 14000 miles if your not frying them all the time but if run them at teh track every now and then expect 8-10k miles out of them. Then dont let the car handle like the Firehawks or RE730's but it hooks up better and great in the rain as long as u have tread.

I'm running Kuhmo Ecsta 711's and pretty happy with them. Snow traction isn't as good as I'd like it to be, but otherwise they're awesome tires, and not too expensive either.

I had SZ50s and while wet/dry traction was great, they only lasted me maybe 10k miles. I then went with the Khumo's. Great $$$ value and I was able to pull a 1.901 60 foot time on them in my 90'. They also gave great wet traction and decent cornering. I got 15k out of them.
I paid $103 each from tirerack(for 275/40/17s). I allways buy my tires from them now. Great prices.

Thumbs up

I'd recommend the G-Force T/A KDs. These things freakin' hook! They actually bog my motor with the stock gears back in the rear end. And, they handle so well it felt like I upgraded some of my suspension with the tire change. Wet traction is fair. If you require better wet, go with the G-Force T/A KDW/

Just my $.02

I bought a set of g-force KDW's and at the time they were cheaper at tire rack. I like them.
