Need idle help

Often after driving when I come to a stop the idle will be 500-1000 rpm too high. If I sit long enough it will gradually come down on it's own. Sometimes I can blip the throttle and it will settle down where it should be. Otherwise the car runs fine. Oh and this is with A/C off. I've checked and set my TPS position/voltage and the IAC is in the right range at idle. I've checked for vacuum leaks and found none. I'm a bit befuddled as to what else to look at. Give me some direction please.

Re: Need idle help

If it recovers with a blip of the throttle, sounds like the blades are possibly not closing fully when you let up on the pedal slowly to roll to a stop. While it’s idling high at a stop, get out and check the throttle/cable/quadrent for sticking.
