Question Fuel PUMP install ..Walbro 255 lph..

I tried to email you from your link on your page and it got returned.
My pump assembly looks like your pictures except the plastic flex hose on my old pump broke off when I removed the old pump from the cannister. I noticed your flex hose in the pictures was cut or removed also. I used a rubber fuel line and a set of hose clamps on the new pump on the out-going pressure line. Could that be a problem? Gimme some feedback...
anyone else got ideas why my pressure will not get past 20 lbs with the key on then suddenly fall to 0lbs after 3-4 seconds? I hear a sound in the tank like a toilet flushing so I guess that is the fuel pressure bleeding off quickly as the gauge shows the pressure fall at the same time as the sound(duh).
Thanks for help..

Fuel pumps have an internal check valve to keep the pressure from dropping; it's possible that you have a faulty fuel pump. I helped a friend install a Walbro 255 lph last year, about six months later his fuel pressure didn't hold any longer. We'll be installing a Racetronix setup next weekend. As far as only getting 20 psi, you might try applying 12V directly to the fuel pump to have it run full time and see if the pressure comes up (as a test). If the pressure comes up then it's probably the check valve.

did you use fuel hose specifically designed for "high pressure"??? ie. fuel injection hose or was it regular fuel hose???

Racetronix includes a modified Walbro pump that will fit the stock fuel can (plastic enclusure that the pump mounts in).

Depends on what you mean by wiring harness. The basic kit comes with a wire adapter to fit the stock harness. That set up is $160 or so. The other kit comes with it's own wiring harness and doesn't use the stock wiring.

I used a standard fuel line. I think it is 5/16 or 7/16 something like that...It is internally braided but I dont think it is specifically for high pressure.

Yes, the FLT1-FPA has everything you see in our ad less the PnP upgrade harness.

What a about a proper 30 micron sock to protect the gears in the pump?
The factory 70 micron sock does not cut it.
How are you going to get the new pump to properlly seal into the checkvalve at the bottom of the bucket?
How is the in-tank factory wiring and terminals. Burnt? Corroded / black?
