Need quick information!!!!

Ok i can get a set of 3.73's with the instal kit new for $150. I think i am going to get them but i have some questions first. My car is a auto with stock 3.23 gears. How much sotp feel will i get and how many tenths will i pick up in the 1/4? Also in the 1/4 if i left my auto in DRIVE will i be able to make it down the track with out shifting into OverDrive?? And the last question is how much will it hurt my gasmileage? Thanks for the help!

Re: Need quick information!!!!

I'll answer the easy ones: The torque to the rear will obviousy be increase by 15%. You might experience a bit lower ET in the 1/4. Your peak tq will come at a lower miles per hour as well as your peak HP.

Probably won't effect your MPG much if at all.

Add computer reprogramming to the cost of the swap.

Re: Need quick information!!!!

you will feel a big difference, it should knock off about .3 off the 1/4. add a converter and get another .4-.5 off. yes you shoulde be able to put it in drive and make it through the 1/4 without hitting od. shouldnt hurt mileage at all, except for that first tankfull when you are trying it out. also for that price it cant be genuine gm so get ready for any aftermarket to howl like a freaking dog in heat when on the interstate, even some of the gm gears make a lot of noise.

Re: Need quick information!!!!

Might as well get some RATECH solid spacers to put in place of the crush sleeves. They don't cost much and might add a bit of strength to an otherwise cheesy rearend. JMHO

1993s are different. I guess I should not have assumed it was something else when no year model info was given. Someone with experience with the 1993 should be able to give you some info.
