Need to quiet the car, badly!

The new 383 is too loud. I like it but the cops WILL NOT. I need to quiet it down so I can't drive it till I do. The current exhaust is Jet hot LT's , no cats, thru the loudmouth. It may hurt performance a bit but I have to do this. I'd like the B&B Tri-flow but afraid it will be loud also. I was considering the Corsa but just don't want to fork out the cash and then be disappointed. I'd appreciate comments or suggestions
Again, I am looking to really quiet the car down,
Thanks

Get a cat. Get a collector insert. Keep the loudmouth.

The car sounds like a winston cup car No joking, the loudmouth was beginning to get to me anyhow last year before the rebuild. I also have a buddy(being sarcastic) who is a police officer and we have a past going back to my days in high school. He would love this.
I need to get it quiet a bit because if I did get pulled over I don't want them climbing all over the car and seeing no cat. I don't need any 5 day fix it or ticket , tickets.

Muffler and a cutout?

A stock muffler would not absolutely kill the flow would it?

I don't know if this suggestion is feasable with you but...you could put a Bullet muffler in place of the resonator, and put baffles in the end of the headers collectors. This would no add much weight, and I like how baffles make a car sound. Its relatively cheap as well.

Yes, a muffler. I want to ditch the loudmouth and go with a new cat back. No cut out. Thru the whole thing it sounds like I DO have a cutout that is open. The thing is awesome and I only drove it a few blocks for fear of my buddy!

I see SLP makes a muffler to go in place of the resonator. I am not tooo worried about weight as this thing easily smokes the tires so maybe a bit of weight would help with traction.

HOOKER AEROCHAMBER CAT-BACK! Sounds like that is exactly the type of system you need for your car...

Good luck,

Mike

Re: Need to quiet the car, badly!

Does anyone run the SLP 2OTL? . I ran a search and came up with that and a magna flow. Both were said to be being quiet(er).

Re: Need to quiet the car, badly!

I would prefer to leave the cat off, unless I absolutely, positively had to put it on.

Re: Need to quiet the car, badly!

Throw a dynomax bullet or a borla XR-1 on there in place of the LM resonator, problem solved.

Re: Need to quiet the car, badly!

I am sure there are some exhausts that are quiter than others. I am looking for that! I am leary if a little bullet is going to do it.
