Need some opinions for a new cam.

Need some opinions for a new cam.
Currently I have an LT4 hotcam cut on a 110 LSA. I like the cam and it is GREAT for drivability but I want more power. The hotcam has given me a best of 12.96@106.06 MPH on stock heads. Here are the requirements for the new cam I want
1. Must make more power over the hotcam
2. I dont really want to spin past 6,000 RPM, I have a new motor and may be willing to go in the range if 6100-6200 if necessary.
3. Would like to have a nice choppy idle, maybe a little more then what the hotcam has.
4. Would still like to retain a respectable amount of torque. I realize that to have more top-end power you have to give up some torque.
5. Something that will work well with a set of LT4 or some mildly ported LT1 heads.
I REALLY love the sound of the LE2 camshaft, what is the operating range for this cam?

You'll be giving up torque down low, maybe(depending on which cam you do), but it'll probably make MORE torque albeit higher in the rpm band.

I've come across a few cams that I am interested in. What are the RPM ranges for the GM846 and the LE1.5?? Also, what springs are out there that let me use most of the stock hardware and dont require any kind of machine work to the heads??

Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but would a hotcam with a 112 LSA make more power? What would the differences be between the two?

The LE1.5 cam has a rpm range of what your looking for and has a coppy idle. Search and you'll find plenty of sound clips. Not sure on drivability, I have one but elected not to install it just yet as the plans for the car changed and needed a good smooth idle for it to please the wife
The Crane 227 cam will have a near stock idle.

The power you MIGHT make by swapping cams wouldnt be the effort unless your willing to spin higher. If you were talking about going to a CC306 or GM847 or LE2/LE3 then I'd say do it, but keep the Hotcam and save your money for something to improve upon what you already have.
I'd suggest some Longtubes and a Vigilante. Those would set you up for a low 12 pass easily.

I wouldn't try to use the stock spring hardware with any cam, lol. Get some of the PAC springs as mentioned. They will also free up some hp. I would suggest the XFI lobes as they have lower RPM ranges than other cams with the same durations and they are designed specifically for beehive springs.

I have the Comp XFI 467 in my 383 with PAC 1518 springs, runs srtong all the way to 7000 RPM
My 1996 Corvette, 383 Cubic inch LT4. Forged Eagle crank and rods. Mahle forged pistons. Comp XFI Cam. Heads have been ported and polished by me, new valve job and shaved .005. PAC Racing Beehive springs, locks, retainers. Comp Pro Magnum roller rockers with guide plates. Trick Flo -.100 hardend push rods. New opti spark, Cloyes double roller chain, Meziere Elec water pump, Keyed ballancer hub, new clutch. I have a new tuned PCM from PCM for less but it has already died. I had to put the stock PCM back in t

This is my car with the XFI 466 in my 355 with beehive 918's.
It runs pulls strong from 2000 up to 6500rpms.
I also get 25-27 hwy mpg

Those last 2 cams sound very nice, but are a little bit to high in the power band for what I want to spin. The LE1.5 seems to be in the power band I want and sounds really good. Anyone selling one soon???
