new alternator still low voltage

The regulator is built into the alternator. Did you remember to reconnect the sense line (connector on the back bottom of the alternator)? Also check that you have good connections (not loose or dirty) at the end of all your battery/alternator harnesses.

i have a similar problem sometimes...could a underdrive crank pully cause any of that...i didnt think it could but someone told me otherwise (someone always tells you something they know nothing about)...but at this point im willing to look anywhere...also every once and a while there is a really bad idle problem...it will go down to like 3-400 rpms and stay there...volts drop almost all the way off until i give it a rev and it goes back up real fast..if i dont it will usually die but sometimes will hold idle if i have my stereo a/c etc off...but it causes some really scary driving as when i have the clutch in and take turns the power steering tries to go out as a result of the low rpm's...could this be the tensioner?
