new car....old motor??? Help
I just bought a 94Z project car that came with a motor that is supposedly good??? After further research, I realize that a stroker motor is out of my budget right now. It seems like the common suggestion is to go through a motor when the situation is right. Well, it's just sitting in the cradle with no connections made and now seems to be the time. Is the common practice to add forged pistons, rods, etc. to beef up the bottom end??? I'm planning on adding a ported head/cam/header setup to get started on a budget and maybe more on down the line. This is assuming the rest of the internals are OK. What's the best way to judge the condition of the internals? I'd like to just put the car back together (the easy route) but I know I need to do what's right while the motor is out. Not building for competition, just a weekend driving machine to make me smile!!!
