I talked to McLeod a while back and they just told me that I "Needed to do the drill-out mod" for the clutch to properly work. My response was "why in gods name wasn't that included with the instructions??" He gave me some BS answer and I just listened. Anyways, go to McLeodind.com and there should be a tech number at the bottom of the page. Call the number and the owner will either fax you instructions, or tell you what to do. It seems to work much better now, but they DO reccomend an aftermarket hydraulic system with a performance clutch....go figure, they tell me after I already bought the clutch.

My feeling is, if its gonna slip...i will let it until the *****er burns out and then it is time to get a Street Twin which comes with EVERYTHING that I need!!

I have found the cure, installing built A4 with Vig 3000 lock up,BMR extreme sway bar & HAL Shocks and Springs in front.
My 60 ft will be 1.60s and I should be in the 11.s and stop smelling underhood to see how my clutch did after every run.

Can't a new clutch start slipping early if it is not properly broken in?

How many miles are necessary before you really hammer it? What about full throttle acceleration but granny-shifts?

Thanks!

500 miles, I know that's what the manufacturer says, but I've been told that 250 is fine with a normal, non-puck style clutch.

I've had my clutch on for 4 months and it only has 175 miles, and it's REALLY aggravating. I try to drive as much as possible but it seems like 500 will never come. When I had 135 miles, I did one 20-120 run, but I granny shifted... I hope it's alright. The clutch feels broken in, but there's no way to tell if the disc is glazzed over.

Some clutches have ceramic busts on them which do NOT even require a break in period. My clutch had those busts on them, but I still drove her soft for about 250-300 or so miles.

My question to you guys....did you break them in properly??? I've heard of these types of problems and usually its due to abuse before the clutch is properly broken in.

Yes the clutch was broke in properly. I had this problem with my stock clutch and I thought it was a bad clutch so I went with a new spec stage III and I still have this problem. Anyone know how to do the slave cylinder mod?????? How much bigger does the hole need to be and where about do ya drill it?
