New Heads?

Well, my car is acting up, at around 1500 RPMs you can hear it overload a bit, and then slightly backfire, i have a valve no longer seating and probably due to an exhaust leak at the header, i've probably burnt the damn valve.
I'm going to try running seafoam into the engine and see if i can clean it out a bit, if that doesnt work, looks like i want to go with just a liiiiiitttttttttle larger heads. Aside from all the mods in my signature, the rest of my engine is stock, I DO NOT HAVE ALOT OF MONEY, so these Edelbrock heads i found appeal to me if worst comes to worst, im just wanting to get everyones oppinion on these heads vs. stock LT1 heads.

thanks again for everyones help

If you do a search, you will find that the Edelbrock heads do not have a good reputation. You would probably be better off just sending your heads off to Lloyd for some budget porting and refreshening www.eportworks.com and if your budget allows, maybe get a cam from him as well.

future plans for this car will turn it into a bad street 383, so thats why im not WANTING to go too big on heads right now because later they're not going to do me much good.

i dont get it....flow is always good. are you talking about swapping for a raised runner or something? sheetmetal intake?

the TFS heads, when cnc'd flow almost as good as AFR's raised runners....and they're a stock design.

i would, but then i would have to wait a year or more, these edelbrock heads would be a quick change option to keep costs down because right now, im in the middle of restoring a 1968 Camaro and i'd like most of my money to be going into that.
