Re: New MSD cap and rotor kit for Lt1
Good luck seeing one the initial buzz on these was last fall and I have not heard of a single one getting shipped yet the ship date keeps getting pushed back. It is just a cap and rotor and while many think it to be the greatest thing since sliced bread it is not yet tested and replaceing a rather good part to begin with. MSD simply is trying to cash in on peoples unwarranted fears about the opti. It is priced reasonable as compared to other cap and rotor kits and will add a little color underhood. I am not saying it will be bad or anything just not worth the hype.

Well thanks for the input....while im in there should I replace anything else? I know my waterpump was replaced before i bought the car...
My car seems to be idling a little rough, and running crappy times, and im just trying to fix the problem

The water pump is not that expensive if you go with something like remanufactured from NAPA depending how long ago it was put on I might replace it. since half the coolant is out anyway give that a good flush and refill in your climate you do not need to run a 50/50 mix you can get by with less antifreeze or none and add a water pump lube. Water cools much better than antifreeze and the antiboil is done by the pressurized cap so as much water as possible while still maintainin anticorrosion and waterpump lube should be the goal.
At least give the vacuum vent lines for the opti a good check and maybe even replace them if they go bad it can damage the opti.
To improve your time I would recommend a stock MAF and appropriate tuning.
